Mrs. A. J. Hubers Dies After Illness Of Two Weeks
Mrs. A. J. Hubers, nee Rennie Andringa, passed away at her home at Orange City on Monday, following a two weeks illness of pneumonia and heart trouble. She was 54 years of age.
Born in the parish of St. Anna, Friesland, the Netherlands on March 15, 1879, she came to America in 1891, to Holland, Nebraska.
She was married to John W. Obbink in 1900 at Pella, Nebraska, and in 1916 they came to Sioux county residing on a farm near Hawarden.
Her husband died in 1927, and in 1930 she was married to Mr. A.J. Hubers of Orange City.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her aged father, W. Andringa, 87, of Holland, Nebraska, by 6 children, as follows: Richard Obbink, Hawarden; Annie, Mrs. Neal Vander Lugt, Hawarden; Bertha, Mrs. P. De Graaf, Hawarden; and William Obbink, also of Hawarden; Emma, Mrs. Mike Dirksen, Sioux Center; and Henry of Hawarden. Six grandchildren also survive.
Brothers and sisters who survive Mrs. Hubers are Gerrit Obbink, Pella, Ia.; Hattie , Mrs. L. Van Deest, Holland, Nebraska; Peter, Orange City; Jake, Zeeland, Mich.; Susie, Mrs. J. Wiekamp, Hull; Hendrika, Mrs. Dyk of Hiekman, Neb.; Theresa, Mrs. L. Doctor, Holland, Neb.; and Anna , Mrs. Chas. Dykstra, of Hospers.
A devoted member of the Christian Reformed church, funeral services were held at the First Ref. church at Orange City, at 1 o'clock at the home and a half hour later at the church, conducted by Rev. R. Bronkema. Burial took place at the cemetery at Lebanon.
