Kevin Lee Bailey, 49, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 5:21 a.m. in Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with the Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Cremation will take place and ashes interred privately in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and 9:30 a.m. until Mass time Thursday at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. A vigil service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel.
He was born December 25, 1962 in Michigan City, Indiana to James Howard and Sandra (Wilke) Bailey. On September 7, 1985 in Michigan City, IN he married Katherine Ann Kalkirtz who preceded on January 26, 2004.
Surviving are 2 sons, Zachary Bailey of Michigan City, IN, and Robert Bailey of LaPorte, IN; mother, Sandra Bailey of Michigan City, IN; 2 brothers, Jerry (Pam) Bailey of Michigan City, IN, and Darrel (Carol) Bailey of Trail Creek, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecilia Bailey; father, James Howard Bailey; and sister Andrea Bailey Metcalf.
Kevin was a retired union carpenter with the Carpenter's Union Local 1485. He enjoyed wood working and was very particular about his craft.
