Tuesday 27 November 1990:

"Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Md., for James T. McGoye, 94, of 142 West Fairview Street, Piedmont, who died 20 November 1990 at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., where he had been a patient for three days.

The Rev. Paul A. Byrnes officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery, where military honors were accorded by Kelly-Mansfield Post 52 and Victory Post 155, American Legions.

The Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont was in charge of arrangements.

Born in Lonaconing, Md., he was the son of the late John and Sara (O'Neil) McGoye. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. McGoye served in World War I and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He retired in 1974 as a deliveryman for the former City Cleaners in Piedmont.

He is survived by his widow, Hilda B. (Keyes) McGoye; two sons, Robert T. McGoye, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and David A. McGoye, Woodbridge, Virginia; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons."
