FORMER WICHITAN IS FOUND DEAD IN DALLAS HOTEL

News has been received here of the death in a Dallas hotel of Harry P. Faurote, who was clerk at the Westland here last summer. He was a night clerk at the St. George in Dallas at the time of his death. His body was found in a rooming house, a bullet hole through his head and a pistol lying near. Faurote was a trap shooter of some note, as are the other members of the Faurote family; he was a experienced hotel man and was very popular here, the news of his death being received with much regret by those who knew him in this city.

Death notice of Harry P. Faurote, Wichita Weekly Times newspaper, Wichita Falls, Texas, 21 Feb 1913, page 5, column 3.

==========

The informant listed on Harry's death record is was his sister, Grace Faurote Frick. It seems odd that she was unable or unwilling to provide more detailed information about her brother. She also indicated that Harry was a single man when he died. While this may have been an error on Grace's part, no marriage record has been located for Harry Faurote in Texas or anywhere else.

Various written accounts in several publications, newspapers and police reports indicate that Harry and Louise Preslar-Bosley were married in 1913. No primary documentation of that marriage has been located. Furthermore, unless Harry committed suicide within the first month that they were married, the couple probably were married (if they were really married at all) in 1912, rather than in 1913.
