Herin, Elmer E. 89, of Hesperia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999 in Fremont following a long illness.
He was born Jan. 22, 1910 in Newfield Township, the son of Cyrenius and Ida Hinderliter Herin. He was a life resident of Newfield Township. He was a longtime farmer and sexton at West Hesperia Cemetery for 30 years.
Survivors are his wife, Hattie; daughter, Sharon (Marlin 'Ike') Eitniear of Hesperia; daughter-in-law, Nancy Herin of Hesperia; son-in-law, Jerry Taylor of White Cloud; his sister, Violet Anderson of Grant; sister-in-law, Ethel Herin of Hesperia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Lawrence; daughter, Marcella Taylor; brothers, Ralph, James, and George; sister, Elva Herin; and sister-in-law, Ida Herin.
Funeral services Friday, Sept. 10, 2 p.m. at Cooper-Harris Funeral Home, Shelby with Rev. Brad Brillhart and Rev. Merlin Delo officiating. Interment in West Hesperia Cemetery. It is suggested that memorials may be given to the Ferry United Methodist Church.
