Henry's death date is uncertain. Some quote it as 1863-1865, but Stephen Rupright has found evidence that his wife Eve Catherine Specht Getz was living as a widow in 1860, so his death may be before that.

Henry would have all six of his sons, two sons-in-law and one grandson serve in the Union Army during the Civil War. Of these nine, four were wounded and two died of wounds (both of these later were wounded in the assault on Marye's Heights during the Battle of Fredericksburg on 13 Dec 1862).

While not positively established, his probable burial place may be in New Berlin, Union County, PA.
