Parke E. Eckman, seventy-one, Conestoga R2, died unexpectedly at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hospital. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death. He was born in Providence Twp., the son of the late Jeffrey and Adda Barr Eckman. A resident of Conestoga for the past 19 years, he was employed by the Rice and Weidman contracting firm until he retired three years ago. He was a member of the Conestoga Evangelical Congregational Church, Conestoga Fire Co., Conestoga Lions Club, Conestoga Rod and Gun Club, the Lanco Beagle Club of Mt. Nebo and the New Danville Fire Co. Besides his wife, Edna M. Warfel Eckman, he is survived by four children, Clarence H., of Conestoga R2; Claude, of Holtwood RD; Evelyn, wife of Roy Enterline, of Washington Boro R1; and Parke L., of Mountville; a brother, Guy, of Quarryville; a sister, Ethel, wife of Amos Wimer, of Quarryville; and 13 grandchildren.
