Douglas Joseph Armstrong, 65, of Warsaw, passed away into the presence of his Lord on Dec. 13, 2012 after 24 years with Parkinson's disease.
Doug was born to the late James and Maria (Ferrigno) Armstrong in Columbus on May 2, 1947. He graduated from Bishop Watterson High School, served in the USAF for three years and later graduated from Ohio State University. Doug was married to Susan Janet (Wiley) Armstrong on Sept. 18, 1976; they were married 36 years. Doug worked as Sales Manager for Wiley Organics for eleven years. He enjoyed music, airshows, and volleyball. He was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and was actively involved in Promise Keepers, a men's discipleship organization. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 53:5, "by His stripes we are healed".
Doug is survived by his five children, Matthew (Rebecca) Armstrong, Nathanael (Hayley) Armstrong, and Joseph, Christopher, and Keren Armstrong, his nine grandchildren Kelly (Jason) Loper, Michael, Brian, David, Rachel, Aaron, Braedyn, Wyatt, and Nataley Armstrong; his siblings Richard (Gloria) Armstrong, Rosemary (Dale) Carson, and Rita (Don) Hammer; among his nieces and nephews are Adrienne (Ken) Jensen, Lauren, Allison, and Mark Hammer, Joshua Wiley and the rest of his family and friends.
The visitation will be begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at Solid Rock Foursquare Church, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Massie officiating. Light refreshments will be served after the service.
