She was born March 3, 1920 in Lonoke County to the late Allen W. and Evie Smith Thompson.
She was a member of Yorktown Freewill Baptist Church near Star City and was a homemaker.
Helen T. Frizzell married Luther Burnice Frizzell, Jr. during the "Depression" in 1939. Life together was cut short with the death of Burnice in 1979 at the age of 60. Ms. Helen spent 60 years in the Home Extension Clubs. She loved working for her community and various charities. She received various awards for her unselfish work in community service. She worked tiredlessly on fair exhibits and volunteered when needed. She was also Extension Honor Woman of the Year numerous times.
Also preceding her in death were her husband of 40 years, Burnice Frizzell, son; Joe Frizzell, sister; Pauline Highfill, 2 brothers; A.W. Thompson and Joe R. Thompson.
Survivors include 1 son; Steve Frizzell and wife Donna, 2 daughters; Donna Gulledge and Joan Collins and husband Frank, all of Star City, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services are 2:00PM Friday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Bro. Don Borland and Bro. Frank Matchett will officiate.
Visitation will be 1:00PM until time of funeral Friday at the funeral home.
