Daniel Edward (Dan) Beasley, 63, Abilene resident since 1921, died at his home at 1634 North 21st Street at 5:30 pm Saturday.

He had been ill for two years.

Born in Mississippi in 1884, he came to Texas with his parents three years later. He lived in Ellis County and moved to Nugent in 1901 where he was a farmmer, and then came to Abilene in 1921.

He formerly worked for several oil firms here and was employed by the Walker Smith Wholesale Grocery Company whe he became ill.

Mr Beasley was a Mason and a member of the University Baptist Church.

Survivors are the widow and 11 children, Lewis of Houston, Mrs Jack Walker of Fresno, Calif, Mrs Francis Ginter of Abilene, Edward of Bakersfield, Calif, Mrs Ed Helton of Abilene, Pat of Fort Worth, Clarence of Lamesa, and Dannie, Herbert, Joe and Buelah of Abilene, and three brothers, W E and H O Beasley of Abilene, and Charles D of Seattle, Wash.

Funeral arrangements by Laughter-North Funeral Home were incomplete Saturday night pending the arrival of two children from California.

Patt Neff Beasley, son, was born Sept 20, 1921 and died June 11, 2006. Pat's wife, Ocie Joy Smith was born May 28, 1925 and died Dec 27, 2009. Burial location is unknown at this time.
