Mrs. Stella Blackwell, 87, a resident of Ranger and Eastland County all of her life, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ranger General Hospital after a short illness.

Funeral was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Witte, pastor of the First Christian Church, Thomas J. Spain, minister of the Ranger Church of Christ, and the Rev. Gene Chamness, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Born March 26, 1884, in the Alameda Community, she was the former Emma Stella Moseley. She married Andrew Jackson Blackwell April 21, 1902, in Alameda. He died Jan, 19, 1948. They made their home in the Alameda community until 1906 when they purchased the tract of land that is now Ranger's Cooper Addition.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. V. V. Cooper of Ranger; one brother, Claude B. Moseley of Coleman; two sisters, Mrs. W. E. (Alice) Calvert of Ranger and Mrs. Virgie Brown of Gorman; one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
