HARLINGEN, TX.- Roberto T. Alvarez, 79 of Harlingen, TX passed away Monday, December 17, 2012.

He is preceded in death by his mother Genoveva Garcia and by his adopted parents Jose and Concepcion Alvarez.
Roberto retired as a Master Sgt. after 24 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and was owner/ operator of a local Loan Company.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years Isabel Alvarez; Father to Cynthia Alvarez, Robert (Bobby) Alvarez, Jr., Patricia Alvarez and Maxine Alvarez both of England; Grandfather to Alyssa Alvarez and Tristan Delgado; Brother to Elva and Aurora Castillo; his loyal and devoted canine companion Zva; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held 10:00am-9:00pm Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the Rudy Garza Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving family and friends at 5:00pm and a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00am Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Ashland Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the Harlingen Medical CCU Staff, Dr. Eric Six, La Hacienda Healthcare Center and Odyssey Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen.
