Vivian Marie McCurry, 66, of Stillwater, Okla. died on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Paul Jones officiating. Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was born on December 19, 1941 in Chandler, Okla. to Claudis Otto Anderson and Esther Marie (White) Anderson. She married Jimmy Ray Lane. They later divorced. She married George Maynard Lane in 1967. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1979. She then married Jake McCurry, Jr. on October 28, 1980 in Stillwater, Okla. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1992.
She was a caring giving person who was never judgmental towards others. She enjoyed caring for her children and grandbabies and loved her family. She always worked very hard to keep her family together. She was an angel with unconditional love for all. Her ministry in life was to help others even if they were strangers. She had a way of lighting up the world with her smile. She was a wonderful mother. She also had a unique sense of fashion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one daughter, Julie E. Lane; and two brothers, Charles Leon Anderson and Billy Ray Anderson.
She is survived by three sons, Danny Lane and his wife Jaronda of Woodward, Okla., Maynard Leroy Lane of Lexington, Okla., and George Henry Lane and his wife Debbie of Stillwater, Okla.; and one daughter, Vivian Maydean Ventris and Laura of Stillwater, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters.
