Age 81, of Fenton, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Argentine Care Center in Linden, MI. Steven was born on August 3, 1921 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Phillip and Nette (Sparka) O'Connell. Steve served in the U.S. Army, with the rank of Tec 5 serving overseas with the 96th infantry. On March 15, 1947 in Onaway, he married the former Charlotte M. Minier. He was employed at the GM Metal-Fab plant in Flint for 30 years, retiring in 1981, and was a member of UAW Local 659. The couple has made their home in Fenton ever since.

Steven is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte; a brother, Philip O'Connell of Onaway; brothers in law, John Dreffs and Floyd Minier both of Onaway; sister in law, Helen Minier of Milford; and special friends, Judy and John Preston. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.

Arrangements were handled by the Temrowski Family Funeral Service, Fenton, MI.
