Melvin George Neagle, Sr., age 80, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Early, IA, passed away at Buena Vista Regional Hospital in Storm Lake, IA, on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

Melvin was born on February 27, 1932, to Frank and Elizabeth (Pierce) Neagle in Lake City, IA. The family moved to Nemaha where Melvin attended school. On October 26, 1952, Melvin was united in marriage to Donnabelle McChesney in Rockwell City, IA. They made their home in Early, Nemaha and the Rockwell City areas.

Do to a work related accident, Melvin retired from his work as an auto mechanic in 1974. In his younger years Melvin enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting and in his later years, fishing, camping, working on small engines and spending time with his family and friends. He was baptized in 1985 and a former member of the Church of Christ in Rockwell City.

Survivors include his daughter Cheryl Hansen and husband Kenneth of Early, IA; son Frank M. Neagle and wife Laurie of Madelia, MN; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Robert Neagle of Mission, TX; and extended family members.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Frank W. and Elizabeth Neagle; wife Donnabelle; son Melvin E. Neagle, Jr.; sister Josephine Haudshell Woodyard; and companion Martha McChesney.
