Calvin's name appears as a minor child living with his father and step-mother in the 1860 US PA census for Millersburg, Upper Paxtang Twp., Dauphin county. In the 1880 census he notes his occupation as "marble cutter", and this confirms his occupation along the lines of a tombstone fabricator as described by his nieces. In the 1900 US PA census records for the Borough of Millersburg he once again lists his occupation as "stone cutter"; age given as 45. Residing with him is his wife, age 41, of 16 years and his (4) surviving daughters. In the 1910 census Calvin is "head of household" living with his wife Mary E., age 50, Anna A., age 21, and Helen R., age 15, all inhabitants being born in PA. He also appeared in the 1920 census, age 64, for the area, but his "occupation" was difficult to read off the records. Calvin appears in Oak Hill's cemetery record book. From family recollections by Calvin's nieces, it was also uncovered that Calvin was only a half-brother of William's. Calvin's mother's name has not surfaced. A copy of Calvin's death certificate, #1779182, however, notes that Jeremiah Miller was his father, and Elizabeth Ossman was his mother. Daughter Rene Miller, of Millersburg was the informant for the certificate, noting that her father was a shoemaker, and lived at 438 Race Street, Millersburg, PA at time of death.
He died of myocarditis.
