Joseph Wayne Fite, 89, of Momence, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno.
He was born on July 18, 1923 in Carlinville, IL., the son of Joseph F. and Viola G. Groves Fite.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori K. Fite of New Jersey; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Marjorie McKee and Kay and Rich Laue, all of Momence; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sandra Fite of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Paul Fite) and two sisters (Virginia Prindle and Doris Frederick).
Mr. Fite was a WW II veteran serving in the Army. He received four overseas service bars and the European, African and Middle Easter theatre ribbon with one silver star.
Commital services were held at Abrham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 with Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating.
