Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Redwood Christian Church with Bob Wood, pastor, officiating. Private burial will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Contributions may be made to the Redwood Christian Church Building Fund or to cancer research, both in care of Lundberg's.
She was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Craig, Minn. On Feb. 14, 1978, she married Don Kane in Grants Pass. She worked at restaurants and schools as a cook. In 1983 she moved to Grants Pass from Anchorage, Alaska, after retiring as head camp cook and baker for the Alaska Pipeline for nine years.
Kane was a member of Redwood Christian Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, canning, and volunteering at the senior citizen program at Fruitdale Grange, her church, Jerome Prairie School, and the Special Friend program, where she was known as "Grama Jennie."
In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters, Cindy Brooks of Arlington, Wash., Peggy Harvey of Eagle Point, and Diane "Dicy" Hyde of Grants Pass; a son, Donavan Laumeyer of Grants Pass; three stepsons, Brad Kane of Rainier, Robert Kane of Denver, Colo. and Greg Kane of Medford; four sisters, Marion Vessel of Hibbing, Minn., Kathy Carpentier, Eileen Sommerville and Millie Spezialy, all of Anchorage, Alaska; three brothers, Donald Combs of Selma, Robert Combs and Malen Combs, both of Anchorage; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
