Theresa Ann Gatti Pieri, 37, of 218 Shagbark Drive, was stricken while riding in a automobile on Collins Road. She was rushed to Bristol Hospital in an ambulance where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her fourth son was delivered a few minutes after her death. Dr. Fred F. Tirella, medical examiner, said death was due to natural causes. Her husband, John, was a patient at the hospital at the time, scheduled to undergo surgery.

Theresa and her father, Domenick Gatti, came to Bristol, CT from Scranton, PA in the summer of 1940 for work. The rest of the Gatti family joined them in October 1940. Theresa served in the WAVES in World War II. She was a member of the American Legion and of St. Gregory's Church.

She is survived by her husband, John Lewis Pieri, four sons and one daughter. Also surviving her are her parents, Domenick and Elvira Gatti, two brothers Philip John Gatti and his wife, Frances; Robert Lee Gatti and his wife, Carmela; her sister Margie Leger and her husband, Norman (all of Bristol) and a sister Mary Steen and her husband, Roy, of Tyler, Texas.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at the O'Brien Funeral Home in Forestville and at St. Matthew's Church where a mass was celebrated followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
