David Norman Bodtker, 76, of Portland, died Nov. 16 of age-related causes. He was born June 25, 1936 in Redmond to Andrew and Margaret Bodtker, the youngest of four boys.

The family moved to Junction City, where they raised beans and his dad served as the Justice of the Peace. David met his wife of 53 years, Donna, at Junction City H.S. They married in 1956 and moved to Eugene where David attended University of Oregon, and started a family.

David worked in the wood industry from 1958 to his retirement in 2000, ending his career in wholesaling for Alpine Veneer, Western Int. Forest Products, and Shamrock Building Materials.

David loved golf and working, friends and family. He often held a membership at the local golf club wherever he was living, including Rock Creek Country Club. David's hobby was collecting one more gadget to improve his golf game.

David is survived by his children, five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Donna passed away in 2009.

All who knew David will miss his witty and dry sense of humor. The family appreciates the loving care that David received at the adult foster homes of Nea and Roberto Bittar. With special thanks to Marta Justinano-Bioca.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at West Valley Community Church, 5215 NE Elam Young Parkway, Hillsboro, OR; his ashes will be interred at The Danish Cemetery in Junction City with his beloved wife, Donna. Memorial contributions can be made to Providence Hospice, 6410 NE Halsey St., Portland, OR 97213.
