ALBERTS - Roy W. Alberts, 86, 4401 N. Main St., died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 1978, in RIver Bluff Nursing Home after a long illness. Born March 25, 1892, in Freeport, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Alberts. Lived most of his life in Rockford, living in Florida from 1966 to 1975. Married the former Elsie Mae Ashton in Rockford, Dec. 6, 1911; she died in 1963. Married the former Mable Clouse in Rockford, Oct. 9, 1965. Employed by Pearce Butler Co., as carpenter and engineer many years. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church more than 60 years; also member of Carpenter's union Local 792. Survivors include his wife, Mable, Rockford; two daughters, Mrs. Violet Tripp, Bradenton, FL, and Mrs. Doris Parker, Rockford; a son, Robert Alberts, Rockford; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Alberts, Rockford; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Dewey, Freeport; Mrs. Florence Levey, Rockford; and Mrs. Mable Mutimer, Rockford; a stepdaughter Mrs. Donna Joy, Parker, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 in Burpee-Wood Funeral Home, 420 N. Main St., with the Rev. O. Garfield Beckstrand, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made at Trinity Lutheran Church.
