Georgia May Ashlock Schwabe, 89, of Liberty, formerly of Columbia, died
Monday, Oct. 9, 1995, at Liberty Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at First Christian Church with
the Rev. John Yonker officiating. Burial will be at Columbia Cemetery. There
will be no visitation.
Mrs. Schwabe was born on May 1, 1906, in Columbia to James and Lura Sappington
Ashlock.
She married Max Schwabe on July 12, 1930, in Columbia, and he preceded her in
death on July 31, 1983.
Mrs. Schwabe lived most of her life in Columbia. She was a member of First
Christian Church and a Hickman High School graduate. She was a graduate of the
Columbia Business College and worked as a dental hygienist prior to her
marriage to Schwabe, a former U.S. congressman.
Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Lusk of Sun City West, Ariz.; a grandson;
two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Ashlock Rone, and a
daughter, Dr. June Schwabe.
