Second but first surviving son of Richard of Cornwall and his second wife, Sanchia of Provence.

Husband of Margaret de Clare, daughter of Richard de Clare, 5th Earl of Gloucester and his second wife, Maud de Lacy. They were married at Ruislip, Middlesex, 6th or 7th of October 1272. They had no children and the marriage was dissolved February 1294.
