MR. GRIFFIN DINGLE SR., the beloved son of Charles O. Dingle Sr. and Dorothy M. Dingle, was born on September 20,1956 in Wilson, North Carolina. On Saturday, December 17,1988, GOD quietly called Griffin from the joys of this world to enter into His Heavenly Home after a lengthy illness.
Griffin attended Fairmount Hill Junior High School and completed his education at Patterson Senior High School. Griffin played outstanding basketball at both schools. While attending Fairmount Hill Junior High School; Griffin was a member of the Falcon Basketball Team and received three Trophies for Team Leadership, Outstanding Player and The Most Valuable Player Of The Year. Also, Griffin received three Trophies for Team Leadership, Outstanding Player and The Most Valuable Player Of The Year at Patterson Senior High School while he was on the Basketball Team there. After completing Hugh School, Griffin enlisted in the United States Army for three years. Upon completion of his services duties, Griffin was an employee of Gould, Inc. until his health interrupted his employment. "Spring", as he was fondly called by all who loved and knew him had a smile that could lighten up your day. "Spring" was a loving, caring and compassionate person, whom would help anyone that needed his helping hands. "Spring" made numerous friends wherever he went. "Spring" lived a life that left memorable impression upon those that came across his path. "Spring" had a passion for playing Basketball, Rollerskating, music, singing,
dancing, swimming, cooking and most of all spending time with his family and friends. "Spring" created a Band Name Rick and The C-O'S while living in Flag-House Projects. "Spring" wrote the songs, music and was the Drummer of The Band. "Spring" was a member of The Flag-House Projects Basketball Team, Chip Webb Recreation Basketball Team, Chip Webb Swimming Team and received numerous Trophies for his outstanding performance. "Spring" played the Trombone in The Schools Bands, he played the Trumpet in The Flag-House Projects Marching Band. "Spring was indeed a very talent person. Griffin or "Spring" touched so many lives and will be sincerely missed by everyone who loved and knew him. One nephew~Charles Otis Dingle Jr.III preceded Griffin into death.
Griffin leaves to celebrate his life: his mother: Mrs. Dorothy M. Dingle; father: Mr. Charles O. Dingle Sr.; two sons: Lamont Jerome Dingle and Griffin Dingle Jr.; three sisters: Mrs. Evon Cannon, Ms. Evette Dingle and Ms. Rochelle Dingle; two brothers: Mr. Charles O. Dingle Jr. and Mr. Cornelius D. Dingle all of Baltimore, Maryland; one grandfather: Mr. Jake Baines Sr. of Wilson, North Carolina; great uncles, great aunts, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, a host of other relatives and friends.
