A funeral mass is 10:30 am today at St.Gall Catholic Church for Minden resident Robert F. Aldridge, 89, who died April 24, 2008, in Gardnerville.

Born Sept. 30, 1918, in Ohio, he was a bombardier in the U. S. Air Force.

He married Elsie Blanche Nichols on Oct. 6, 1943, in Boise, Idaho. The couple has lived in Minden the last 19 years.

Mr. Aldridge started in the construction business and built homes. He ended his 40-year career in the motion picture industry as head of the Universal Studios Grip Department.

A member of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, Mr. Aldridge is survived by his wife, Elsie; children, Gloria Lash (Lee), Karen Kick (Ray), Bill Aldridge (Debi), Steve Aldridge, Tim Aldridge, Jim Aldridge, Carol Mueller (Michael), and Sandra Chermak (Dave); 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister Margaret Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery in Carson City. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden.
