Donald M. Dinatalli, age 79, of Council Bluffs, passed away December 14, 2012, at the Hospice with Heart Hospice House in Glenwood, Iowa.

Donnie was born February 20, 1933, in Council Bluffs, to the late Frank and Flossie (Hogaboom) Dinatalli. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1953. Donnie worked many years for George Elias at the 64 Club, worked 25 years as a communications operator for the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Department (1966-1991), and was a special deputy sheriff for Sheriff Roy Wichael and Sheriff Lynn G. Ford. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Christoforo Colombo Lodge #1419, lifetime member of the National Sheriff's Association, lifetime member of the Southwest Iowa Peace Officers Association, member of the Iowa State Sheriff's and Deputies Association and was an Admiral in the "Great Navy of Nebraska", appointed in 1972, by Governor James J. Exon.

Donnie was in failing health the last year and entered Risen Son Christian Village in July, 2012. He was extremely proud of his Italian Heritage. Donnie was a true and loyal friend to those who knew and worked with him, always willing to help a friend in need.

He loved the Kansas City Chiefs football team and followed football closely.
