Funeral rites for Will Blackwell, 92, of Dumas the past two years, and a resident of Wheeler County for 50 years, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 9, in Morrison Funeral Chapel in Dumas.
The Rev. H.L. Stevens, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiated. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday in Shamrock Cemetery.
Mr. Blackwell died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at Dumas Convalescent Center.
He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Borger. His wife, Lideann, died in April 1966.
Survivors are two sons: J.T. of Dumas and E.G. of Osceola, Missouri; five daughters: Mrs. Azalee Morton of Borger, Mrs. Jetton McDaniel of Colorado Springs, Colo; Mrs. Odell Johnson of Plainview; Mrs. Rheta Hazzard of Borger and Mrs. Wilma Lang of Shamrock; 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
