Lois M. Gross, 83, of Turtle Lake died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Amery Regional Medical Center. She was born April 22, 1929 in Beaver Twp, WI to George and Lavina (Clemons) Schramski. Lois was raised in the Turtle Lake area and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1946.
She was married in Turtle Lake on August 19, 1947 to Reno Gross who preceded her in death on July 13, 1994. Lois was also preceded in death by 1 son, Warren, 1 granddaughter, Jessica Willers and 1 brother, Donald Schramski.
She worked at the Turtle Lake Creamery and then farmed in the Turtle Lake area with her husband until 1986. They retired to the Village of Turtle Lake.
Lois was a member of St Ann Catholic Church where she taught religious education classes for many years. She was a member and an officer in the Altar Society for many years. Lois loved flower and vegetable gardening, baking, and her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandy (Gene) Scribner of Turtle Lake and Patti (Terry) Willers of Rice Lake; 2 sons, David (Rose) Gross of Turtle Lake and Ken Gross (Kent Campbell) of Rochester, MN; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Marian Gores of Amery and Agnes Wolf of Alamogordo, NM.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Turtle Lake, WI with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Turtle Lake, WI. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Dean Gross, Troy Gross, Trent Gross, Brent Scribner, Brian Scribner, Brandon Willers and Daniel Borner. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Kristy Cappo, Kara Huebner, Bridget Oehlke, Becki Olson, Cassie Gross and Alexis Gross. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake and one hour prior to Mass on Saturday at the church.
