Lela was born March 6, 1923 to Leonard and Ancie (Carlton) Light in Johnson County, Arkansas.
She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and then utility for Delco Remy 30 years.
She was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene over 50 years. She was the head of the Missionary Project at the church for many years
She is survived by her husband Gorman "Doc" Self of Anderson whom she married December 14, 1943 in Clarksville, Ark; her brother Verless Light of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Clarence Light.
Services will be 10 AM on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Parkview Nazarene Building Fund.
