She was the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Hatfield) Opphile. She married Clarence H. Kies, who preceded in death.
Surviving are five sons: Arthur (Pauline), Piqua, Raymond (Linda), Harold (Mary) and Norman (Deloris), all Sidney, and Richard (Shirley), Anna; two daughters: Ruth (John) Eick, Dellroy, and Eileen Kies, Botkins; and twenty-one grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five siblings.
