Mrs. Betty Jean Merkison Dawson, of Conyers, GA, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, at the age of 70.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joe and Ruby Merkison.
Mrs. Dawson is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jimmy Dawson, of Conyers; daughter, Pamela Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Angela Dawson all of Covington;
seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Arna Jewel White of Buckhead; brother, Julius Merkison of Donalsonville; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dawson was a member of Community Church of Praise, where she served as Vice President of Ladies Ministries.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Dawson will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Community Church of Praise, 3851 Union Church Road, Stockbridge, GA, with Pastor Ken Smith officiating.
The burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Community Church of Praise from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Community Church of Praise, 3851 Union Church Road, Stockbridge, GA, in memory of Betty Dawson.
