Una Frances Blissett, 97, of Burleson, TX, passed away Saturday, September 24th, 2022.

She was loved by all and is survived by many who called her "Memaw". Frances was born in Blanket, TX on June 23rd, 1925. Her strength, determination, and zest for life sustained her to live nearly a century as she amazed medical professionals who described her as a "walking miracle". In 2018, Frances suffered a detrimental heart attack and was given only two hours to live. Her family and doctors watched her life expectancy expand to two days, then two weeks, two months, on to two years, and she ultimately outlasted everyone's expectations, which is no surprise due to Frances' sheer willpower to survive.

Frances grew up in Brownwood, TX where she met and married Roland Leslie Blissett on December 19th, 1941, until his passing in 1977. After a long courtship, Frances married Jim Williams on October 6th, 2015, until his passing in 2017.

Throughout her life, Frances resided in other cities across Texas including Fort Worth, May and San Antonio as well as a short stint in San Diego, CA.

In her 97 years of life, Frances never failed to express her generosity for those around her, always sharing what she had and welcoming family to live under her roof. If there was a song on the radio, she had hands in the air, humming to lyrics she didn't know and harmonizing with the tunes. This shows just a fraction of her spirit and enthusiasm for music that held strong, even up until the day before her passing. Other passions included family gatherings, cooking, dancing, gardening, and enjoying an occasional toast with a glass of rosé.

Frances enjoyed a career in interior decorating. In addition, she worked on B12 bomber planes as a Riveter during World War II and was proud to be a member of the "Rosie the Riveter" women, seen on the world famous We Can Do It! posters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Virgie Mabra, spouses R.L. Blissett and Jim Williams, siblings Pearl Thiejie, Jean Stacy, Robbie Joe Mabra, Mickey Freeland, and Donald Mabra, granddaughter Robin Blissett, and great-grandson Kody Bruner.
Frances is survived by her daughters Pattie Jean Blissett, Bobbie Lou Tawater, and Linda Elizabeth Blissett, grandchildren Guy "Les" McFadden, Culley Pierce, Curtis Bruner, Carrie Pierce, Tommy McFadden, Daineen McFadden, and Stefanie Smartt, 16 great grandchildren and 18 fifth-generation great-great grandchildren and her only living sibling , Alvie Mabra
