Funeral services were held last Thursday, December 10 at the First Baptist Church for Mrs. Sarah Myrtle Sharp, with Rev. Bob Field officiating, assisted by Rev. W.T. Harris, Childress. Rev. Fields, a former Dickens pastor, now living in Azle.

Mrs. Sharp died Dec. 8 in a Ft. Worth hospital. She was 76.

Born in Nashville, Ark., in 1888, Mrs. Sharp came to Dickens County in 1930. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, L.L. Sharp, Afton; Lawis Sharp, Dickens; and W.J. Sharp, Ft. Worth; two daughters, Miss Opal Sharp, Dallas and Mrs. Vesta Patrick, Ft. Worth; five sisters, Mrs. Roxie Despaine, Mrs. Vevira Cook, Mrs. Christine Land, Mrs. Mattie McMelton and Mrs. Dazy Parsons; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Guy Fellmy, Frank Murphy, Johnnie Koonsman, Jimmy Chesney, Willow Street and Fred Arrington.

Burial was in Afton Cemetery.
