Mrs. Katie Lou Hendrix Koon, 85, of Batesburg died Tuesday. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late D. A. "Abb" and Mattie Alice Seay Hendrix. She retired from Lexington County School District Three and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the WELCA and the Esther Circle. Surviving are her husband, H. Lee Koon; daughters, Mrs. Allison (Virginia) Pugh of Laurens, Mrs. Homer (Kathleen) Haltiwanger of West Columbia, Mrs. Lavada K. Wessinger and Mrs. Luther (Sandra) Hawkins, both of Batesburg; and sons, Robert H. Koon of Saluda and Dr. David E. Koon of Columbia. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Charles R.
