Services for Mrs. Hettie Lena Porter were held at the First Baptist Church at McCamey, Texas. She lived in Graham, Texas for many years before moving to Odessa, Texas in 1960 to be near her children. She passed away in her sleep at the home of her granddaughter while visiting.
William Porter married Hettie Lena Drum in on 5 March 1916 at her parent's home in Farmer, Young County, Texas. He preceded her in death.
Survived by two daughters - Mrs. Almeta Alexander and Mrs. Geraldine Gray; three sons - Richard Porter, Frank Porter, Leon Porter; three sisters - Mrs. Iva Reeder, Mrs. Azlee Reader, Mrs. Zada Chapman; three brothers - Wellis Drum, Cobert Drum, Ira Drum; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
