Mary Esther Usher was born in the town of Olmsted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, March 24, 1841, and died at her home in South Wayne, Wis., Dec. 27, 1923, aged 82 years, 9 month and 3 days. April 16, 1865, she was united in marriage to A. Arial Eastman, who died Nov. 30, 1914. Two daughters- Rose B. Eastman and Mrs. Wilfred L. Heindel, survive. She also leaves one brother, John M. Usher, of Cashmere, Washington.
In 1858, she moved with her parents from their home in Ohio to Wisconsin, living on a farm in the township of Wayne. Here she was married, and the new home was in the immediate neighborhood. In 1892, the family left this farm and took up their residence in the village of South Wayne, where the rest of life was spent.
When eight years of age she united with the Methodist Episcopal church.
Funeral services conducted by her pastor where held at the home Saturday afternoon, Dec. 29, and interment made in the Eastman cemetery.
