On June 24, 1950 Bill was married to Kathleen Mae Baker at St. Henry's Catholic Church in St. Louis. He attended college for two years studying agriculture, and went on to raise cattle and kids. Bill was a farmer and truck driver by profession. After retiring he enjoyed hauling cattle for local farmers, and was an active conservationist. He enjoyed sitting on the back porch observing nature, his family, and life.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he leaves behind a legacy of 10 children, he was the proud father of 9 sons, David (Sharon), Paul (Vickie) Amsden , Norm (Penny), Bill Jr. (Nancy), Matt (Kim), Andy, Curti, and Chris Amsden all of Farmington, Steve of Vashon, WA and one daughter Julie (Paul) Cunningham of Troy, TN. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Tom Amsden and John Amsden.
