Wife of Thomas Jabez Eppes; daughter of James Edward Bowen and Armelia Bell; sister of Mary Etta, Jennie Bell, Amelia, Margaret Pearl, Roumelle, and Jimmie.

Per her relative, Mary Lisa Bolton, "Edrie was very small with beautiful blue eyes, fair skin, dark hair and long dark curly eyelashes; she seemed a little nervous compared to her older sisters. She worked as a clerk for a period of time. She was a great baker of cakes--known for her chocolate icing. Aunt Edrie was always concerned about the welfare of the family and friends, and was one of the founders of the Lakeview Baptist Church."
