OBITUARY. ---
Mary Stephenson, daughter of John and Mary Jones was born in Rush County, Indiana, April 22, 1834. Departed this life November 8, 1920, Aged 86 years, 7 months and 6 days. On December 12, 1850, she was united in marriage to John Stephenson. To this union were born twelve children, seven sons and five daughters. The husband, three sons and three daughters preceeding her to the spirit land. Upon the same year of their marriage she and her husband united with the United Presbyterian church. About 1854, they moved to Boone County and settled on the north-east quarter of section 3, and the remainder of her life has been spent in the immediate neighborhood.
After the Sedwick Chapel church was built and some of her children united with it she moved her membership there in order to be with them. She was a faithful christian (sic) and an affectionate mother until the Heavenly Father called her to that home she so often spoke of. Her last words were that she was singing, "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow."
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Watson at Sedwick Chapel with burial at Murdock Cemetery.

Lifes labor done, as sinks clay
Light from its load the spirit flies
White heaven and earth combine to say
How blest the righteous when she dies.
