Doris Virginia Bauman, 84 of Rootstown passed away Sunday December 9, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born January 24, 1928 in Meigs County, OH to the late Albert and Edith (Balderson) Wyers. Mrs. Bauman lived most of her life in Rootstown, after raising 7 children she and her husband moved back to WVa after William retired but returned to Rootstown a few years ago. Doris enjoyed Church activities, sewing, cooking and camping with her family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Brimfield (former member of Blackhorse Baptist, Ravenna and Cedar Grove Freewill Baptist in WVa.) Survivors include her husband of 66 years, celebrated this past May 18, 2012 William C. Bauman, her children William H. (Carol) Bauman of Rootstown, Harold Edward (Peggy) Bauman of Ravenna, James A. (Barbara) Bauman of Pennisula, OH, Ginger (Jack) Elrod of Lenior, NC, Mary Kay (Ernest) Shipp of Rootstown, Sandra Lynn (Howard) of Ravenna, Rebecca Ann (Toby) Nichols of Walker, WVA.Sixteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, brother Raymond (Joyce) Wyers of Cambridge, Sister Charlene Todd of Ravenna, sister in laws Linda Wyers and Joyce Wyers of Ravenna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one great great grandson, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes, Ravenna Chapel at 2:00 PM Wednesday December 12, 2012 with calling hours from 12 noon until the time of services with Pastor Dave Hermann and Pastor Dallas Sanford officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.
