Originally from Rhea Co, TN Went to White Co. during the 1870-80's and married Martha Susan Parks, daughter of Confederate Civil War soldier, John Parks and his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Moyers) Parks. After their first child was born, they returned to his native Rhea Co, TN and remained there until sometime after 1900. Their last recorded child birth was in 1903. The next record that was located was the 1910 census where Susan and the children were listed in Roane Co, TN but without James. So, it is presumed that he died and was buried in Rhea Co., likely in the Bean Cemetery where one or more of his children are buried. This memorial is being created to preserve that record until other data may be located. Susan and the children moved on to Chattanoga, Hamilton Co. TN where Susan is buried in the Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery.
