Mr. Shelton, a Portland resident for 26 years, died Wednesday in an Astoria hospital. A cargo checker for the Pacific Maritime Association, he was born Nov. 23, 1913, in McMinnville. He served with the 123rd Oregon Air National Guard during World War II.
Survivors include the widow, Bette; a daughter, Patti Jo; a sister, Mary Wolford, Portland; and three brothers, Carl, Portland; Verl, Estacada; and Conley, Chico, Calif.
