Mrs. Martha Ellen Tessmer, 74, 605 West Third, died at 1:45 a.m. today in Mt. Carmel Hospital. She had been in ill health several years and hospitalized seven times since June.
Mrs. Tessmer was born Sept. 21, 1890 in Pittsburg and had lived here all her life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jacobs, pioneer residents southeast of Pittsburg. She was married Aug. 22, 1910 to Otto F. Tessmer in Pittsburg.
Membership was held in St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include the widower of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Snider, Ottawa, and Mrs. Floyd Geier, 519 Hobson Drive; one son, Richard Tessmer, Neosho, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. John Major, Pittsburg R. R. 2; two brothers, Louis Jacobs, and Henry Jacobs, Joplin; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church. Rev. Wayne Weissenbuehler will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church from the Brenner Funeral Home at noon Saturday.
