Ella V. Crabtree Lubik Applebee, age 96, a resident of St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull, died on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the Manor. Mrs. Applebee was born in Norwich on August 12, 1907, daughter of the late Walter and Amelia Newell Crabtree. She was the widow of Vincent W. Lubik Sr. and Leon Applebee. Mrs. Applebee was predeceased by her brothers, William, Herbert, James Nelson and Albert Crabtree; and her sisters, Viola Crabtree and Mabel Merrick; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Babcock Lubik; and her son-in-law, Richard Denton Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Nelson Lubik and his wife, Glennis of Bridgeport, Vincent W. Lubik Jr. and his wife, Eileen of Stratford, Arlene Lubik Kiley and her husband, Thomas of Bradenton, Fla., and Evelyn Lubik Denton of Shelton; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will take place in Lakeview Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Manor, 6448 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611.
