Joan Dernbach of Portland died peacefully at the home she loved for the last 20 years on Feb. 27, 2012. She was born to Theodore (Mike) and Margaret Dernbach, who preceded her in passing. She is survived by brothers, Allen and Michael Dernbach; sisters, Jane Cashman and Sue Oliver; as well as her loving partner, Kevin O'Connell. Joan was a registered nurse with a big heart and a healing touch. She worked for a variety of health service providers during her career and always had special relationships with her fellow staff members as well as patients. She loved traveling, camping, boating and hiking with friends.
