Mrs. Irene Coffey Thomas, 85 of Conway, passed from this earth to be with God on November 26, 2012. She was born in Rockcastle County, KY on May 21, 1927 the daughter of Clennie Coffey and Ethel Smith Coffey. Her determination, strength, and great faith in God helped her through the many illnesses and tragedies she endured in her lifetime. She loved being outdoors, doing yard work, and tending to her many flowers. She was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for her dogs and cats, which she dearly loved. A very caring and compassionate woman that was always willing to help family, friends, and neighbors in any way she could. She will be sadly missed by all that loved her. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a life long resident of Rockcastle County.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail Thomas of Berea, and Kathy Combs and husband Rich of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Ned Coffey of Conway, and Jr. Coffey of Old Town, FL; two grandchildren, Traci and Adam; one great granddaughter, Madeline; four step grandchildren, Becky (Randy), Clinton (Sherry), Cathy (Larry), and Rodney (Amy); one daughter-in-law, Linda; five nephews, Brian, Darryl, Craig, Kevin, and Ben; her wonderful friend, Julie; and her loving and loyal pets. In addition to her parents, Clennie and Ethel Coffey, she was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Thomas; a sister, Emily Ozella Coffey; a son-in-law, Tully Parsons; her grandparents; and many aunts and uncles
