1768 March 16 - John married Sarah Pyle. She was the daughter of Col. John Pyle, M.D. and his wife, Sarah (Baldwin) Pyle.
1768 Nov 5 - John was disowned by Quakers at the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting House. It is assumed he was disowned because he had married outside his faith when he married Sarah earlier in the year.
1779 - SC Census shows John and family living in 96th District in South Carolina.
1782 - John, a British sympathizer was arrestied in Chatham Co. NC. and lost all his property. He moved his family for a short time to New Castle, Delaware where Sarah had family.
1790 Sept 9 - At age 42, John wrote his will.
1790 Nov 11 - John's will was proven at Pendleton District, South Carolina.
