Newell "Beaver" Edward Julian born March 14, 1934 passed away at the Morris County Hospital, December 6, 2012.

He was born in Lebo, Kansas. He joined the United States Navy and retired from the National Guard after 27 years. He worked for Julian Electric, Rumsey-White Hardware Store, Ingmires, and USD 417.

Beaver belonged to The Sportsman Club and taught Hunters Safety Course. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle, brother Bill, sister Delores Henry, daughter Sara and son John Brown.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn, of 52 years, son Neil Julian and wife Debbie, of Council Grove; daughter Carol Brown, of Salina; grandchildren: Sara Julian Engel, Thad Julian and Bobbie Brown;5 great-grandchildren; sister Claudine Shettleworth, of Shawnee; brothers Claude Allen Julian, of Colorado Springs and Jerry Julian, of Lebo.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Monday, December 10th, at the United Methodist Church in Council Grove. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel, Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.

Myrtle was born and lived in Lebo until 1992. She had eight children. They were Clelia Delores, Velda Claudine, Claud Allen, a stillborn baby, Robert Gene, Newell Edward, William Lewis and Jerry Dean. She married Claud Julian on April 12, 1927.
