Born in Freeman (sic) , Germany. Came to the US as a boy and located in St Louis. There he married Amelia Smidt on April 24, 1879 and they had seven children. In 1882 they moved to Pierce City and entered the baking business. He established the Albert Bakery and Restaurant which was one on the oldest businesses in PC at the time of his death. He helped build PC. He was kind and generous to little children and they loved him dearly. Also a director of the Lawrence County bank. Children include Mrs. W.A. Mills, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Norman Hudson, Monett, Emil Richard Albert Tulsa, Mrs. John Lucas, Mrs. Paul Koeneman, Fred and Otto all of Pierce City. Source PC Leader Journal
