Funeral services for DELPHIA McDONALD,81,Gainesville, were held Friday in the Clinkingbeard Chapel with Earl Cook and Wiley McGee officiating.
Mrs McDonald died last Tuesday in Springfield Medical Center, after a long illness.
Mrs.McDonald and her late husband, Alva moved to Gainesville in 1922 where they established and operated the A.D. McDonald General Mercantile Store for 32 years. Mrs. McDonald was actively associated in the bisiness.
She was a member of Gainesville Christian Church, Gainesville Chapter of Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge.
She was born June 26,1898, at Pontiac, the daughter of Sam and Ollie Mahan Martin.
She was married on Sept. 20,1914, to Alva D McDonald at Oakland Ark. Mr. McDonald died on Oct 1,1961.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Carter, Mrs. Genelle Breeding and Mrs. Mary Ruth Landers, all of Gainesville; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a nephew, Loren Taylor, Springfield. Two children preceded Mrs. McDonald in death: Mearl who died in infancy, and Alma Luna who died Dec.13,1959.
Burial under th direction of Clinkingbeard of Gainesville, was in the Gainesville City Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Ron Goodwin,Steve Hutchinson, Fred Harle, Stacy Landers,Loren Taylor and Gene Luna.
